Resident Benefits


Stipends paid to residents in Anesthesiology will be dependent on the range of remuneration negotiated between the Association of Teaching Hospitals and the University of Minnesota. Tuition and student fees are over and above your stipend. The amount of tuition and student fees is added to your stipend and then deducted from your paycheck over 26 pay periods.

2007-2008 annual stipends:

PGY1: $44,412
PGY2: $45,551
PGY3: $47,118
PGY4: $49,045
PGY5: $50,433
PGY6: $52,204

Dental insurance – optional; resident pays
Pre-tax health care/dependent reimbursement accounts – optional
Life insurance – provided at no cost; $50,000 term policy
Long-term disability insurance

Paid vacation – three weeks of vacation and one week of unanticipated leave, including sick time
Paid maternity and/or paternity leave (pd maternity with STD)
Meal tickets and parking while on rotation

Membership at the Recreational Center
